If you've received a penalty charge notice (PCN), we’re here to help guide you through possible reasons and steps for resolving it. Here’s what you need to know:
Why Was a PCN Issued?
A PCN is typically issued due to parking-related violations, and the specific reason will be stated on your notice. Here are some common reasons:
- Entering the wrong vehicle registration
- Selecting the wrong parking location
- Staying beyond your paid parking session
- Parking in a disabled bay without displaying a Blue Badge
- Using a permit-only area without a valid permit
- Not parking within a designated bay
- Failing to pay for parking
What Should You Do Next?
To resolve a PCN, we recommend appealing by following these steps:
-
Download Your Receipt: Obtain a copy of your RingGo receipt, as you’ll need to include it with your appeal. Even if payment was made for the wrong vehicle or location, providing a receipt can support your case.
-
Submit an Appeal: PCN appeals must be submitted directly by the driver to the issuing authority, as RingGo is unable to influence the appeal process due to strict enforcement policies. Instructions for appealing are typically found on the reverse side of your PCN.
